We are committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our supply chain from manufacturing to end application. For this reason, we have an integrated management system, with which we put the goal of continuous improvement in terms of quality and environment into practice.

We place a special focus on occupational safety, environmental protection and quality policy. The ongoing review of our tools and equipment and the use of new technologies are a matter of course for us.

We comply to legal obligations and have also made internal commitments. Our thinking and acting in generations secures the future of our company.

Environmental policy

The current site in Weitenegg in the Wachau recreational area has been used for pigment production since 1921. Based on this long tradition, we take our responsibility for our products, employees and the environment very seriously.

"Our environment is in our hands." - Faithful to this motto, our goal is to protect nature and the environment and to preserve it for future generations. In this sense, we have introduced an environmental management system that complies with the ISO 14001 standard with all its requirements.

Economical use of resources

We develop high-quality and innovative products that guarantee the greatest possible environmental compatibility throughout all phases of the life cycle.Through continuous process optimisation at all stages of production and early maintenance and servicing, we ensure that the available resources are used sparingly.

State of the art

To ensure a safe and efficient production process, we regularly adapt our plants to the latest state of the art.This is why we have one of the most modern bismuth vanadate plants in the world and have been able to reduce water consumption per tonne of bismuth vanadate by 10 % through process optimisation.

Waste management

Systematic waste management minimises material consumption and disposal volumes.A recycling system for the safe disposal of specific types of waste has been implemented. The amount of toxic waste has been reduced by over 42%. In addition, fine dust pollution has been reduced using state-of-the-art filter technology.

Employee training

Our employees are regularly informed and trained in order to maximise environmental awareness. Suppliers and subcontractors are actively involved.Dialogue with the public and environmental authorities contributes to the continuous improvement of environmental protection.

Energy management

Our sustainability strategy ensures that energy use and consumption correspond to the company's needs. Thanks to increased electricity production at our hydropower plants, the proportion of renewable energies rose and specific heating oil consumption was reduced by 7%.

Our primary goal is customer satisfaction. Quality means developing, manufacturing and supplying only those products and services that fully satisfy the customer.

In order to guarantee the high quality of our products, we introduced a quality management system in 2008, which complies with the ISO 9001 standard and all its requirements.
